Institut für Geschichte und Theorie der Architektur (gta) at the ETH in Zürich has long been one of the leading academic environments for thinking about architecture’s ‘uses of the past’. In 2017, gta celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of events. PriArc plays a part in several of these, both through the participation of PriArc’s Maarten Delbeke, recently appointed chair for the history and theory of architecture at ETH/gta, and through special invitation. Hence, PriArc scholars Adrian Forty and Mari Hvattum lectured on ‘Foundation Myths’ at gta’s anniversary conference on 28 September, while Mari Lending took part in the roundtable on architectural theory during the ‘Perspectives’ debates of 29 September. Lending will also speak at the gta conference ‘The Architecture of the Architecture Book’ on 1 December 2017 as part of the anniversary events.
