renaissance-prototypes_bildePriArc PhD Eirik Arff Gulseth Bøhn contributed with a paper to the third international conference of the Nordic Network for Renaissance Studies, organised by the Norwegian Renaissance Society and held at The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, 28-29 September 2016. His talk, titled ‘“Misteriose Erudition Antiche”: Material Continuum between Past and Present in the Villa Borghese’, centred on the restoration, rewriting and display of ancient sculptural fragments in the villa and notions of the villa as site of temporal continuum as described in Jacopo Manilli’s 1650 guidebook to the site.
